Weddings & Commitment Ceremonies

Your wedding represents an occasion that marks a profound change in your life. Celebrate it in your own way! I can provide you with a short, simple, civil or traditional ceremony or we can design a ceremony that is unique to you as a couple.

During a complimentary consultation we can discuss your story as a couple, your preferences, what you cherish in one another, your aspirations and what and who you want to recognize on your day of joining. I can offer you several choices for wordings for each part of the ceremony and suggest readings or songs you may want to include. You can write your own vows or select from a number of options.

I invite you to take this opportunity to consider your mutual values and desires and design a wedding that will declare and honor your intentions for a future of happiness as a couple. You will have a personalized ceremony that gives your commitment as a couple the blessing and meanng that spiritualized intention infuses within it!

Wedding Planning

Your Marriage License:
To be married anywhere in the State of Washington, obtain your license from the WA County nearest you at least 3 days prior to your wedding day and no longer than 60 days in advance. Online go to www.wa.gov for information about your county. Click on "More How-Do-I Questions," select Marriage Licenses and click on your county. Call your local marriage license office at the phone number given to obtain directions and hours, usually for the courthouse or county administrative building. It will give you information about fees and require-ments. Often you can print out the application forms to submit in person at the county office.

Here are 3 local office numbers:
Kitsap County: 360-337-4935
King County: 206-296-3933
Snohomish County: 425-388-3627

Fees
The initial preparation meeting is free for you to meet me and be sure I am the minister for you. My usual fee includes gathering the information necessary to conduct the service, research into special request ceremonies, additional consultations to assure satisfaction with arrangements, creation of a Wedding Cere-mony Commemorative Booklet, writing and performing the ceremony, completion of paperwork and recording the license with a copy for you, and travel within 30 minutes for the ceremony. The ususal fee is $300 to $500 on a sliding scale and depending on what needs to be done.

A minimal civil ceremony would cost less.

Extensive travel, ferries, overnight requirements and rehearsals could cost more.
